Of mention was JetBlue’s Multi-Screen Experience, which was developed together with Spafax, Thales, Viasat, and Astronics. This system allows passengers to surf the web, watch films, and communicate seamlessly, through the in-seat IFE system, via their own personal electronic devices (PEDs), or by using both at the same time. This technology expands on an insight about what connectivity means to passengers today: ready access to entertainment and productivity at all times. It also finds additional relevance in a time where a contactless experience is at the top of every consumer’s mind.

At the same time, Spafax’s IFEC data analytics platform, IQ™ — currently launched with Air Canada — was also spotlighted as a valuable tool for airlines to decide on strategic advertising partnerships. This first-of-its-kind data analytics system grants an overview of passenger engagement metrics across all IFE and connectivity systems. These include category and item performance, media and advertising performance, and cost per engagement; over 30 data visualisations that provide in-depth insight into IFE content engagement are available. IQ™ was shortlisted as one of 24 finalists in the 2020 Crystal Cabin Awards which recognises excellence in aircraft interior innovation.
